Our client is a leading Pan Asian hybrid, hyperscale and edge solutions provider in SEA regions. Their hybrid ecosystem provides colocation, enterprise services, private cloud services, disaster recovery services, and interconnect solutions across cloud service providers, telcos, internet exchanges and major data centers.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all projects both brownfield and Greenfield, which support the rapid growth, expansion, acquisition, and integration of Data Centers across the APAC region.
- Ensure all projects are successfully and safely delivered on time and within budget, managing change, assessing the operational and financial risks.
- Oversee processes for engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of a Data Center.
- Develop and implement project execution strategy, ensuring the implementation of quality control standards and cost control.
- Set guidelines for the strategic utilization of resources to ensure that resources are optimized to meet key objectives.
- Ensure all costs (including materials and manpower resources) are communicated and incorporated into the overall project budgeting.
- Provide leadership and direction to the managers and establish effective project communication plans to ensure their execution in both engineering and construction aspects.
- Standardize the Basis of Design for easy deployment across geographies.
- To integrate a project from conceptual, functional, and engineering design perspectives.
- Escalating deviations that may impact the project outcome at various stages of the project and draw up corrective measures when projects are off schedule.
- Responsible for analyzing current and emerging Data Center industry trends shaping construction, MEP and operations in the APAC regions.
- Establish procurement strategies for acquisition, receiving and tracking of project materials that optimize quality, cost, and timely delivery criteria.
- Establish strong working relationship with internal customers to ensure good alignment of needs and expectations, keeping them up to date with project status and challenges.
- Work closely with external industry agencies, consultants, authorities, and subcontractors to ensure proper coordination of design and construction.
- Assisting the Property Team in identifying and selecting new sites in existing and new markets in line and assist them in negotiation and acquisition of new sites.
- Evaluate new technology and construction techniques associated with land development and building construction to gain an edge on speed to market.
- Be responsible for the layout planning of IDC infrastructure resources for company’s group business, formulate planning strategies and implementation plans from the dimensions of IDC medium and long-term capacity planning, technology, cost, and policy.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with preference for Construction, Building, Project Management, Engineering or Architecture related field from the Data Center industry with 15-20 years of relevant experience.
- Strong management experience and knowledge of Construction, Engineering, Procurement, Industry Standards, MEP and other project-related activities.
- Strong experience in MEP Strong understanding of MEP in the Data Center industry.
- Experience in project control mechanisms and with commercial and technical risk assessments.
- Strategic leader who is forward thinking and will understand the applicability of cutting-edge construction technologies.
- Strong judgment and decision-making, planning and execution ability.
- Strong experience in business partnering with various internal and external stakeholder in a regional setting.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills and ability to interact with team members across levels in achieving objectives.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills in English language.
- Analytical thinking with innovative approach and strong complex problem-solving skills.
- Willing to travel between the Group of companies in the APAC region.
