Job description

Our client, a global manufacturer (US MNC) of heat transfer products and services, specialized in developing resource-saving evaporative cooling equipment that conserves water and energy is looking for suitable talent to join them as Project Engineer.

 

Position Purpose:

The Project Engineer will be responsible for the management of cooling tower delivery and installation projects, and to coach and support our distributors to do the same, especially for our key customers in data centers and electronics. 

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

 

Project Management

  • Initiation – Working closely with the sales and applications team to ensure a clear conception of project deliverables, milestones, and budget prior to accepting the PO.
  • Planning – Create project schedule and budget in close cooperation with all the stakeholders including engineering, factory, distributors, subcontractors and customer.
  • Monitoring and control – Follow up and document the progress on a regular basis, set up a transparent and regular status update and communication plan, along with an escalation plan to ensure timely response to any risks or changes.
  • Closure – Follow through until all deliverables have been achieved, all punch items on site have been cleared and all invoices have been paid.

Site Support

  • Supervision of installation and commissioning
  • Warranty support: assess issues, coordinate rectification plan with factory team and supervise corrective actions on site.
  • Aftermarket: visit existing installations and write visit reports with an assessment of the current state and make recommendations with regards to maintenance, refurbishment, or replacements.
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or relevant discipline
  • With min. 5 years of experience with cooling towers or rotating equipment sales
  • Preferably with at least 5 years of experience in construction project management
  • Good communication skills
  • High sense of responsibility, discipline and ability to work under pressure.
  • Creative and analytical problem solver, focused on results and getting the job done
  • Customer centricity: good inter-personal skills and clear communicator, adept in detecting and addressing any possible ambiguities upfront
  • Team-player: ability to interface well with people of various backgrounds such as engineering, manufacturing, construction, purchasing, QA/ QC & etc.
  • Willingness to travel from time to time (+/-50%)
