Job description

As a Supply Planning Manager, you will play a vital role in optimizing product availability, minimizing stockouts, and driving optimal inventory levels across the retail network.

Responsibilities:

  • Full ownership on the availability of the SG Food business and optimise the Stock days.
  • Develop and execute supply plans to meet customer demand and achieve target service levels.
  • Utilize advanced supply chain planning software and tools to generate accurate demand forecasts, replenishment plans, and inventory optimization strategies.
  • Optimize inventory levels to minimize carrying costs while ensuring adequate stock availability to meet customer demand.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any supply-related issues effectively.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews of suppliers and implement improvement plans to enhance supply chain efficiency and reduce lead times.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline supply chain processes, reduce costs, and enhance overall operational effectiveness.
  • Oversee the end-to-end management of assigned product categories, including coordinating with the suppliers and distribution centres, to ensure timely delivery of goods to island-wide stores.
  • Monitor and be responsible for team KPIs, drive performance, and perform root cause analysis.
  • Lead the team in resolving stores/warehouse-related inventory issues and supplier’s fulfilment related problems.
  • Work closely with Demand Planners on forecasting activities by incorporating current and accurate market information.
  • Work closely with Central Planning Team (CPT) for placing orders during each planning cycle for CPT vendors.
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders for timely rebuy and to plan ordering schedules.
  • Work closely with the Category team and the Distribution Centres to anticipate and manage promotions, new products, excess products, and discontinued items exit strategies.
  • Responsible for optimising inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimising excess stock.
  • Work closely with the Commercial team to manage slow moving stocks and plan for timely clearance.
  • Manage import freight costs and work with the Distribution Centre team to minimise import and D&D costs.
  • Governs all suppliers' requests to suspend store orders.
  • Perform department’s monthly cost accruals.
  • Ensure full compliance on the processes according to SOPs, audit and escalate any exceptions.
  • Train, mentor, and continuously develop the team to support the business demand.

 

Requirements:

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or equivalent.
  • 6-8 years of work experience in similar capacity.
  • Experienced in forecasting, data analytics, inventory planning, supply chain concepts, statistical forecasting, and related processes.
  • Proficient in advanced Microsoft Excel, Power Query and Power BI.
  • Dynamic, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure.
  • Strong analytical capability, excellent negotiation, and planning skills.
  • Strong leadership experience.
  • Excellent communication (spoken and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Retail experience will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge in SAP is an added advantage.
