Job description
Our client is a leading semiconductor chip manufacturers, develops leading edge assembly processes and equipment for lead frame, substrate and wafer level packaging applications. Specialized in high-speed epoxy and flip chip die bonding.
Main Purpose of the Role:
· Responsible for the implementation of the R&D strategy for the specific R&D site (Singapore) as defined by the SVP Product Group.
· Guide and provide inputs for the definition of respective R&D targets, project roadmaps and achieving KPI´s and goals.
· Manages the resources in R&D organization including process improvement and ensure procedure and approval outlined by Management are follow and comply with.
· Ensures the skills and resources availability as required and also in co-operation with others department.
· Resource planning and controlling according to budget.
· Coaching, training and development of the R&D Key talent and Position.
· Actively supports the Product Management in creating and maintaining their product roadmaps.
· Support the R&D Asia strategy and business strategy by providing the relevant inputs from the specific R&D site.
· Ensure and participating in Steco Meetings relevant to the specific site.

R&D Budget & Inputs:
- Overviews and monitors the local site related R&D budget (FTE, cost centres, projects)
- Ensures achievement of yearly R&D targets (New Product development timely and to spec and budget).
- Optimize use of company R&D assets including R&D and Test systems.
Technical Ownership:
- Relevant standards and regulations (e.g. SEMI).
- Responsible for review and implementation of the Product Innovation Process and appropriate documentation of the development artefacts.
- Responsible to build up and sustain an appropriate development infrastructure.
- Ensures timely execution of R&D projects according to targets and budget.
Technology Management:
- Suggesting of core-/non-core technologies to R&D Development Singapore.
- Identifying and suggesting make-or-buy decisions and outsourcing strategies.
Communication & Outside Representation:
- Ensures timely communication and coordination within R&D sites and with other departments including Product Marketing, Tech Support and Operation.
- Representation of the respective R&D site towards external partners, customers and suppliers.
To Provide Operation and 3rd Level Technical Support:
- Ensures Production, Work Instruction and Support Documents are properly maintained and documented.
- Oversee and ensures 3 Level Support for Operations and Product Marketing are capable and effective.
Education
- Minimal MSc degree in Engineering, University
- Additional degree in MBA or Marketing is an asset
Work experience
- Minimum 10 years of working experiences in related field
- Several years’ of experience in R&D, Project Management and Operation with successful implementation of transfer project, KPI and Strategies.
